Welcome at the new - still developing - homepage of FEWD.at!

The multi- and interdisciplinary FEWD – “Forschungsstelle für Ethik und Wissenschaft im Dialog / Research Center for Ethics and Science in Dialog“ was spring 2002 established at the philosophy department of the University of Vienna. Officially opened by the former longtime mayor of Vienna Dr. Michael Häupl, a zoologist. The FEWD was initiated by three eminent Austrian researcher Professor P. Kampits, C. Ehalt and M. Wuketits.

Still the main focus of the FEWD work is on modern humanistic theory and applying humanistic philosophy / ethics to other research fields.

Especially important for the FEWD team is to support early career research, see library and award.

Please visit also the FEWD unit about multi- and interdisciplinary animal advocacy research.

This FEWD focus started already 2001 with the Vienna Animal Advocacy Lecture at University of Vienna.
