FEWD.at - 2002 founded at the Department of Philosophy  / University of Vienna

Welcome at the new - still developing - homepage of FEWD.at!

The founder of the multi- and interdisciplinary FEWD – “Forschungsstelle für Ethik und Wissenschaft im Dialog / Research Center for Ethics and Science in Dialog“ as independent scholarly center have been inspired by the vision of the also Vienna based IDM, IWK, IFK and especially IWM.  Originally the FEWD was spring 2002 opened at the philosophy department of the University of Vienna by the former longtime mayor of Vienna Dr. Michael Häupl, a zoologist. 
The FEWD was initiated by three eminent Austrian researcher Prof. P. Kampits, Prof. C. Ehalt and Prof. M. Wuketits.

Still the main focus of the FEWD work is on modern humanistic theory and applying humanistic philosophy / ethics to other research fields. 

Continuing the already 2001 initiated multi- and interdisciplinary FEWD Vienna Animal Advocacy Lecture at University of Vienna - www.fewd.at/aa/vaal still the main FEWD focus is the animal advocacy research area - www.fewd.at/aa/ 

Central activity is now the EAAW - European Animal Advocacy Workshop – www.fewd.at/eaaw and the EAARA - European Animal Advocacy Research Award – www.fewd.at/eaara  

The developing LRKF - Lengauer Rupert und Karoline Foundation will play a central role in these FEWD activities - www.fewd.at/lrkf  

Especially important for the FEWD is to support early career research, see library and award.
