Welcome to the multi- and interdisciplinary Central-Eastern Europe animal advocacy lecture – CEEAAL!

The multi- and interdisciplinary FEWD was 2002 established at the philosophy department at University of Vienna, see https://www.fewd.at/about  The CEEAAL is a special focus of the already 2001 started VAAL - Vienna Animal Advocacy Lectures at the University of Vienna, see https://www.fewd.at/aa/vaal/history

The CEEAAL lecture serial will be under the patronage of the Austrian and the Vienna governmental representative for animal welfare. And hopefully additionally the office of the mayor of Vienna. Official academic cooperation partners here in Vienna are researchers from different universities and from the field of law, humanities and social sciences. Especially to mention at the moment members from Slavistics and philosophy department.

The lectures will hopefully start in Vienna in late autumn 2026. And Poland will be the first focus of CEEAAL. And main partners will be members of the CLPAN, the Centre for Legal Protection of Animals & Nature at Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, see https://prawozwierzat.wpia.uw.edu.pl/en/news/

Additionally, we hope to cooperate in different form with the Polish cultural institute in Vienna

And in a few years the CEEAAL will be supported of the developing LRKF - Lengauer Rupert und Karoline Foundation!
